The Pentecostals of Lake Wales was founded and established in October of 1997 by Rev. Stephen F. Reed and his wife Beth.

The Reed family began by holding services in The United Methodist Church located in Eloise, Florida with only 13 in attendance for their first service. They rented the Methodist sanctuary and held services on Sunday nights while attempting to locate a building in Lake Wales. On December 23, 1997 The Pentecostal of Lake Wales purchased a church building and parsonage at 117 Gardner Ave. From that time till now, the church has grown and experienced continual increase.

The Pentecostals of Lake Wales is a family environment with many sincere people committed to leading people to Jesus Christ. Lives have been changed and healed by the power of God. There have been abusive homes healed and broken marriages mended. Children, which had no hope, now are enjoying a new life in Christ.

The congregation of The Pentecostals of Lake Wales has grown and is marked by a spirit of faith, grace, reconciliation and generosity.

Pastor Reed and Beth have two children, both in the work of the ministry in the Church. Their daughter Haley is a talented musician and singer while their son Austin is an excellent drummer. All of which are on the Praise team during worship services.

The gifted staff of The Pentecostals of Lake Wales has a variety of backgrounds and come from a wide diversity of educational and spiritual traditions. They make up a strong and vibrant staff of leaders, working diligently and fruitfully in many areas of Christian ministry.
